Reflections on the Kettlebell Juggling World Games 2025, and Where We’re Heading Next

Now that the dust has settled and the last kettlebell has been packed away, I’ve finally had the chance to reflect on what an extraordinary moment the Kettlebell Juggling World Games 2025 turned out to be. It was our first major event as a CIC, and honestly, it exceeded every hope we had for it.

We welcomed over 40 competitors from 10 different countries, each bringing their own style, story and energy to the platform and to London. For a sport that is still finding its roots in the West, the level of enthusiasm and talent on display was nothing short of inspiring.

For years I’ve been the lone UK competitor on the international stage. This year, standing alongside five new UK athletes, I felt something shift. It wasn’t just growth, it was a sense that kettlebell juggling is beginning to take hold here. New jugglers are popping up across the country, from people discovering the fun of flow patterns to athletes training seriously for competition. It feels like the start of a real movement.

An Evolving Sport, One Year at a Time

One of the most exciting things about kettlebell juggling is how quickly the sport is evolving. Every year brings new ideas and possibilities. As part of this, we are working closely with the Kettlebell Juggling World Association to refine our rules, categories and judging standards so that athletes around the world can grow within a clearer, more consistent structure.

This year we introduced a brand-new category, Freestyle Duo’s, and it took even the organisers by surprise. Teams combined circus-style skills, gymnastics, choreography, mime, storytelling and even costume. It was playful, theatrical, technically demanding and just incredibly fun to watch. It reminded everyone that kettlebell juggling isn’t only about strength or endurance; it’s also about creativity, expression and connection.

More Than a Competition

What struck me most throughout the weekend wasn’t just the skill level, but the sense of community. Behind every routine was a personal story: athletes overcoming setbacks, rediscovering their confidence, building new habits, or pushing themselves further than they ever thought possible.

We had moments of nail-biting tension, moments of laughter, and moments where the whole room held its breath at something breathtakingly creative. By the end, the atmosphere felt closer to a family reunion than a sporting event.

Looking Forward

With our first event behind us, the path ahead feels both exciting and wide open.

As a CIC our goals are clear:

  • Grow the sport in the UK with regular workshops, classes and community sessions.

  • Support new athletes, from first-timers picking up a bell to those preparing for international competition.

  • Develop a standardised structure so that as the sport grows, it grows with clarity and purpose.

  • Collaborate internationally, especially with the Kettlebell Juggling World Association, to keep improving how our sport is organised and judged.

  • Show people what’s possible when strength, creativity and play come together.

We’ll be sharing photos from the event soon, and I can’t wait for people to see just how much heart and talent was on that stage. If this year is anything to go by, the future of kettlebell juggling is bright, and this is only the beginning.

We Need Your Feedback

As we grow the sport and plan future events, your input genuinely helps shape the direction of kettlebell juggling in the UK and beyond. If you were part of the World Games experience either in person or via the livestream we’d love to hear what you thought. If you were not but are interested in the CIC and its future work, we'd love to hear from you. These surveys might help us gain support or funding for future projects.
